Sažetak
Abstract The paper deals with the possibility to improve Gavrilovic's parametrical method for the estimation of the soil erosion production and sediment transport. The researcher does not strive to change the basic structure of the parametrical method, but rather to identify better and more reliable quantification of parameter already present in the method. For that purpose, there are numerous information science achievements available. To that end, modern GIS – technology application within the Gavrilovic's parametrical method is being considered, with an illustration of the example of soil erosion and sediment transport estimation at the catchment area of the Botonega water reservoir in Istria.
