Sažetak
Years ago motorway section from Tunnel Sv. Rok to Maslenica Interchange was built in rough terrain and opened for traffic. It is exposed to extreme wind bora which greatly influences traffic regimen on the motorway section. Therefore it was decided to build wind barrier structures along the motorway section to increase serviceability and traffic safety along the motorway. Several types of structures were proposed. Their efficiency was previously tested in the wind tunnel. Special attention was given to wind barriers on the viaducts in order to ensure visibility. Test-sections with common types of wind barriers were built. This paper presents proposed structures which are intended to minimize negative bora influence on traffic. It will as well describe many difficulties that designers met during this project. Scientific project of wind influence on the motorways is under way in Civil Engineering Institute of Croatia and some results will also be presented and discussed
