Sažetak
Serum biochemical values are of great importance in assessing animal health. The purpose of this study was to determine what effects age and sex have on serum biochemical values of mouflon and to establish clinically relevant reference ranges for life stages and gender. Blood samples were collected from 39 mouflons consisting of 20 males and 19 females. We selected live, physically restrained, clinically normal animals to determine reference intervals for these parameters. For each sample, 18 biochemical parameters were analyzed. Distribution of values within each parameter was determined and differences in values between sex and age classes also were determined. Significant sex-related factors included: total bilirubin, beta-hydroxy-butyrate, triglycerides gamma-glutamyl transferase and alkaline phosphatase. Significant age-related values included: total bilirubin, gamma-glutamyl transferase and alkaline phosphatase. The results reported in the present study could serve as reference ranges for mouflon populations.
