Sažetak
Today digital photographs are printed by various printing techniques among which dominant are bubble and piezoelectric drop on demand ink jet techniques, sublimation printing and laser printing. Piezoelectric ink jet is specially significant for printing gallery photographs in the six colors (CCMMYK). Such printing for galleries should fulfill following criteria: high quality of printing, as small as possible color differences according to the desired colors, printing of potentially as great as possible color gamut and satisfactory light fastness. To fulfill all listed criteria it is necessary to have optimal combination of ink jet ink and substrate. Solutions or molecular dispersions of dyes are used in order to obtain desired color gamut. At the same time good quality of reproduction and good lightfastness can be achieved by use of substrate coated with adequate receptor layer. Art photography should be printed on substrates with various surfaces especially on gloss and matt papers. The problem is that characteristics of printing are also influenced by the character of finishing. The paper deals with correlation of surface and optical properties of receptor layer of substrates with spectrophotometric, colorimetric and densitometric values and color difference and color gamut of printed photographs. Obtained results can be used for software corrections during piezoelectric ink jet printing of photographs according to the characteristics of printing substrates.
