Sažetak
Highly enterotropic Ulster 2C strain of Newcastle disease virus was used for experimental vaccination of 168 commercial one day old Lohmann Brown male chickens. The first group of 56 chickens was vaccinated via drinking water, and the second, of the same size, by mean of nebulization. In this group the vaccine suspension was applied by use of ultrasound nebulizer SONOVAC 095. that produce 95% of droplets ranging between a nad 5 microns. The time of exposure was 30 seconds.
At the age of 21 days all chickens (both epperimental and control group) were challenged oculonasaly bu Herts 33 pathogenic stgrain of NDV.
All three groups of chickens resisted the challenge infection and the immune response of all three groups was similar at the and of the trial rising up to 1:2 (9,96) in chickens vaccinated by use of ultrasonic nebulizer, 1:2 (9,67) in chickens vaccinated via drinking water and 1:2 (9,00) in unvaccinated controls.
The nebulization of Ulster 2C vaccine strain of NDV by use of very small droplets of aerosol thus proved to be the satisfactory mode of application of highly enterotropic vaccine strain of Newcastle disease virus.
