Sažetak
Modern rail transport with heavy loads and high vehicle speeds requires the introduction of adequate fastening of the rail to the base. On most tracks where driving speeds exceed 100 km/h, railway companies use elastic fastenings to fasten rails to the base, especially if the tracks are installed on a concrete base. Modern fastening systems are quite complex structures. Therefore, today's use of numerical models in the analysis of fastenings is inevitable. This paper deals with the analysis of elastic spring clips by three manufacturers: Pandrol, Vossloh and Nabla. One spring clip from each manufacturer, most commonly used on today's railways, was examined. Aside from the different geometrical features, the main difference between the spring clips of these manufactures is that the tightening force of Vossloh and Nabla clip is accomplished by tightening the screw with defined torque, while the Pandrol clip does not have any elements that require tightening. Numerical analysis was conducted in the FAE program ABAQUS on a 3D model of the spring clip, with the same loading conditions as found in exploitation. This paper compares the elastic features and bearing capacity of spring clips through a comparison of stress and strain.
