Sažetak
Specific IgE (sIgE) and skin prick test (SPT) to HM: Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus (DP), Dermatophagoides farinae (DF) and SM: Lepidoglyphus destructor (LD), Tyrophagus putrescentiae (TP) were performed in a random sample of 67 men (40.6 ą 7.7 yrs) from the continental region of Croatia. SPT was performed with Epipharm-ALK allergens. An urtica D+d/2 3mm or greater was considered a positive skin reaction (PT+). sIgE was measured by immunoCAP technoloy UNI CAP (Pharmacia AB Diagnostics). Values <0.35 kUA/L were considered nonspecific (sIgEo) and values ł0.35 kUA/L increased (sIgE+). In relation to the level of sIgE skin reactivity was analysed as the prevalence of PT+ and mean D+d/2. The highest prevalence of sIgE+ was found to DP and DF (16/67=23.9%) and lower to LD (10/67=14.9%) and TP (15/67=22.3%). Among subjects with sIgE+ there were PT+ to DP and DF 10/16=62.5%, to LD 9/10=90% and to TP 13/15=93.3%; among subjects with sIgEo PT+ to DP and DF 5/51=9.8%, to LD 9/57=15.8% and to TP 10/52=19.2%. Amon subjects with sIgE+ to DP there were sIgE+ to DF in 15/16=93.8%, to LD in 8/16=50% and to TP 12/16=75%, indicating cosensitization to SM in more than 50% of HM sensitized persons. Significant difference of mean D+d/2 in PT+ reaction between sIgEo and sIgE+ subjects was found only for LD (3.56 ą 0.68 ; 6.2 ą 2.8, P<0.02) and not for DF, DP and TP. Our results suggest that the level of sIgE to LD better discrimates skin reactivity than IgE to DP, DF and TP.
