Sažetak
The paper attempts to reveal the relationship of members of certain traditional community towards their housing space. Since the problem is set in the past - during the late nineteenth and the early twentieth centuries - and the direct research was impossible to conduct, the author employed an indirect approach. This relationship is viewed in the context of its social dimension, using symbolical procedures within the process of integration of a newly arrived family from its late member. Ethnographic and other materials dealing with architecture, as well as the materials dealing with wedding and death custom of peasants from Banija were used as a basis of this questioning.
