Sažetak
The aim of this article is to inform you about the current situation in the development of two PC-based industrial automation systems, the interactive visualization and the industrial image processing, giving you some examples from the Laboratory for Process Control Engineering of the University of Applied Sciences Bremen, Germany. The term visualization means the representation of process operations on a screen using graphics symbols, where process variables can be read and parameters changed. With an image processing system it is possible to optically measure, identify, read, check or control. Their simultaneous application enables a selectable depth of detail, as desired, into different areas of a technical process.
