Sažetak
A set of novel 2, 5-substituted benzimidazoles (1-7) and their cyclic derivatives (8-11) were synthesized and evaluated for their potential cytostatic effect on various tumor cell lines. The structures of the synthesized compounds were proved by means of IR, 1^H NMR and mass spectral data. Based on presented in vitro screening results we may conclude that cyclic compounds bearing nitro and amino substituents (10 and 11) showed the most pronounced growth inhibitory.
