Sažetak
A choice of operas by Croatian composers was made V. Lisinski (Porin), A. Adelburg-Abramović (Zriny), I. Zajc (Mislav, Nikola Šubić Zrinjski) – among some 20 composed during the 19th century, their plots analysed, as well as the composer's attitudes in characterisations of main heroic protagonists (usually national historical personalities) i anti-heroes (enemies, i.e. Franks, Avars and Turks). The use of national musical elements is analysed in the main roles, the relationship to choir scenes, and the relationship towards parallel love stories, as well as reactions of then contemporary audiences.
