Sažetak
This presentation described the obstacles to and opportunities inherent in the implementation of the creative industries agenda in the Eastern European context. These obstacles and opportunities were discussed with respect to the incompatibility of transition societies with the socio-cultural traits and professional standards of postindustrially modernized societies, as well as the structures of their economies. In the media context, a special emphasis was devoted to the field of intellectual property rights and putting the benefits of distance work based on new media into a wider social context.
