Sažetak
A waste dump, located on the right bank of a river, and close to a large city, poses immediate danger of the ground - water pollution in a water-protected region. A decision was made to stop further aggravation of the present situation and to gradually remedy the entire waste dump by installing a Mobile Thermal Treatment Plant (PUTO). The objective of the air quality monitoring of general and specific air pollutants in a village was to evaluate the impact of the city waste dump on the air quality before the introduction of PUTO. The ongoing air quality monitoring has begun in the summer of 1997. This paper presents the results from the begining of measuring until February 1998. Samples of sulphur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, ammonia, hydrogen sulphide, and mercaptans had been collected continuously every 24 hours and analysed by standard methods.
