Sažetak
The decision support problem formulation for the ship structures is presented based upon the coordinated multi-criteria structural optimization. Problem identification implies the relative measures of design quality such as reliability, redundancy and robustness measures. These measures are enabling correct ordering of the design variants and they are used for the preference structure needed in the generation of the non-dominated Pareto frontier. The developed design system includes the specially developed, fast and balanced collection of analysis and synthesis modules/methods used in the following procedural steps: • Determination of racking loads ; • Calculation of racking response in the concept design phase ; • Application of the  -unzipping method to calculate failure sensitivity and system reliability measures ; • Generation of the Pareto frontier for the selected multi-deck structure (based upon the cost-reliability design paradigm). Application of the developed design environment to the structural design of RoPax ship is presented as a practical example.
