Sažetak
The primary task of every oil company is the rational exploration of the discovered reserves of hydrocarbons. The total world oil and gas resource is classified according to the degree of geologic assurance, as potentially recoverable discovered, and undiscovered. The distribution of the ultimate resources between discovered and undiscovered categories differ from country to country. Half of the ultimate resource have already been produced, but the other half will come primarily from currently undiscovered resources.
