Sažetak
Whipple's disease is a very rare systemic disease caused by trophynema whippelii.Any organ or tissue can be involved.presentation is made of a patient with predominately intestinal symptoms of the disease, i.e. diarrhea, malnutrition due to malabsorption, serous cavity effusions and hepatomegaly.The disease was diagnosed by histologic examination of small intestine mucosa.After 6-monththerapy, the patient was free of any discomforts, with almost complete normalisation of his laboratory findings.
