Sažetak
The aim of our study was to investigate the levels of fluoride mass concentrations in the air in the vicinity of an aluminium factory and to determine the portion of particulate fluorides in the total fluoride mass concentration in the air. Mean daily mass concentrations of gaseous fluorides and mean weekly mass concentrations of particulate fluorides were continuously monitored at three sites located at different distances from the source of fluoride emission (first stage of measurement). The monitoring was repeated when the production stopped (second stage). The results show decreasing trends for all parameters. The mean annual concentrations of gaseous fluorides ranged from 0.34 to 2.55 μ g/m3 in the first stage and from 0.37 to 0.50 μ g/m3 in the second stage of measurements. The mean annual concentrations of particulate fluorides ranged from 0.32 to 1.20 μ g/m3 in the first stage and from 0.0129 to 0.0207 μ g/m3 in the second stage of measurement. The portion of particulate fluorides in the total mass concentration in the air in the first stage was from 26.00 to 48.48% and in the second stage from 2.53 to 4.64%.
