Sažetak
Peptidoglycan monomer (PGM) originating from Brevibacterium divaricatum was injected into mice before or after the following particulate antigens: sheep erythrocytes, Salmonella typhymurium and New castle disease virus. Antibody formation against SRBC was enhanced in mice receiving PGM before and after the antigen. In mice immunized to the virus, the antibody formation was stimulated only if PGM was administered after the antigen. No immunostimulatory effect was observed in mice immunized with Salmonella. Thus, the enhancement of the in vivo primary antibody response induced by PGM depends on the type of antigen and on timing of the PGM administration relative to the antigen.
