Sažetak
Some archaeozoological analysis that are made at Department of Anatomy, Histology and Embryology, Veterinary Faculty, University of Zagreb from 1996-2005 are sorted out for this paper. Among abundance of animal osteological material from Croatian archaeological sites, red deer (Cervus elaphus L.) remains is important argument for their hunting, with reference in life and culture from prehistoric times until nowadays. Even though the red deer was hunted primarily for meat in all periods, it is renowned that their skin likely was used to make clothes, their intestines for sewing and their bones and antlers to make agricultural and household tools.
