Sažetak
Sea echinodermata, especially sea urchins, are subjects of many mariculture research. There is not much research with sea urchins in the Adriatic Sea, which dealt with information on dispersion or physiological research. Due to economic interest or the protection of wild stock, experimental rearing based on domestic species was started. The entire eastern Adriatic coast is a natural habitat for the stony sea urchin Paracentrotus lividus. Some parts of investigation were focused on gonads nutrition quality. This study presented data of proximate gonads composition of P. lividus harvested in south Adriatic Sea. The urchins were collected on the rocky shore of Mali Ston bay. All individuals were adults and bigger than 40 mm of ambital diameter (excudining spines). Part of the sample was immediately used for chemical analysis and other part was stored in laboratory tanks for one month without feeding, to record if starvation influences on the chemical composition of gonads.
