Sažetak
From the new economic sociology viewpoint all educational institutions use resources and technology to produce service that benefits individuals and society. Educational services' production is often under the pressure of the society's expectations. Traditionally, schools have been and they are continuing to be the learning centers with the objectives of accumulating and transmitting knowledge. Societies (transitional as well as "established" ones) are undergoing continuous review and change. As regards education and training in general, these circumstances imply a permanent adaptation of the education system to technological and social change. In this paper, the author summarizes entrepreneurial patterns in the Croatian higher education. The intention is to briefly consider a rationale of general policy with greater emphasis on the "privateness" than on the programs' orientation (curriculum characteristics) or size of the HE sector.
