A Green Iguana was admitted to the Reproduction and Obstetrics Clinic in a poor condition. Radiography indicated a space-occupying, homogenous mass filling the coelomic cavity. Some scalloped edges around the margins suggested that these were pre-ovulatory follicles. The owner insisted on surgical intervention although there was no real indication. The oviduct and both ovaries of the Green Iguana were removed. Six weeks after surgery the Iguana was presented for follow-up examination in good condition and the skin stitches could be removed.
