Sažetak
The friction coefficient occurring at the brush sliding over rotating commutator segments has a significant impact on mechanical losses at the commutator of a commutating machine and heating of its commutation assembly. To determine this important parameter it is necessary t carry out comprehensive measurements as the changes of friction coefficient take place in a narrow brush-commutator contact zone which is hardly accessible for measurements. Unlike in well-known measuring methods, in this paper the change of both static and dynamic friction coefficient is explored at same working conditions, using the “ resistance bridge” and “ electrical balance” method. The experiment has shown that the same results for the static friction coefficient are obtained using any of the above mentioned methods, whereas for measurements of the dynamic friction coefficient the “ resistance bridge” method is more suitable.
