Sažetak
The restructuring programme of the Croatian Electricity Utility (HEP) began in 1994 after the introduction of Supplements to the Electricity Law after which the public company of HEP became a stock company. Future restructuring process which includes a new organization and different economic relationships and responsibilities will ensure further steps necessary to increase the competitiveness, efficiency and cost reduction. Privatization will be more efficient if its realization brings about a reliable supply of electric energy followed by minimum costs, which in turn means a positive business trend with a reasonable profit.
