Sažetak
The aim of this study was to analyze the qualitative and quantitativevfood composition and daily rhythm of sprats (Sprattus sprattus, L.), in the Adriatic sea. Index of alimentary tract fullness as well as estimates of the stomach fullness were determinated for 438 fishes, caught in various day time. The most common food of sprats were adult and developmental forms of copepods, decapod larvae and fish eggs. No phytoplankton or other algal remains were found in the stomachs. The maximum fullness of alimentary tract were noticed in the afternoon hours.
