Sažetak
EDITORIAL This is the last issue of Croatica Chemica Acta (CCA) that is edited by the present Editorial Board and me as the journal’ s Editor-in-Chief. The new Editor-in-Chief, Professor Nikola Kallay, and the new Editorial Board were appointed at the Annual Convention of the Croatian Chemical Society held on July 6, 2005. They will edit CCA starting from the first issue of Volume 79 in 2006. We took over the journal in the late spring of 1994 and have edited 46 issues from Volume 67 (issues 3 and 4) to Volume 78. During our tenure we have attracted authors from all continents and from more than 60 countries and, of course, contributions of Croatian chemists, biochemists, mathematical chemists and medicinal chemists from a number of places in Croatia where research in chemistry is being done. We succeeded in increasing the impact factor from 0.413 to the value of 0.924. Hopefully, the impact factor of the journal will keep increasing. We also introduced a new, more up-to-date format and a more attractive front cover of CCA. In the past, CCA used to be printed in B5 format. Since Volume 76, CCA is printed in A4 format. We also implemented a fully electronic procedure for the submission and processing of articles submitted to CCA. Details are available at the Web address http://pubwww. srce.hr/ccacaa. Articles published in CCA are also available in PDF. However, there has been the perennial problem of financing CCA. We hope that the incumbent Editor and the Editorial Board will be more successful in providing grants for CCA. Lack of money is the only reason why we have not introduced six issues per volume instead of four. There has been a great increase in the number of submitted manuscripts and the present rate of rejection is about 70%. Finally, I wish to thank the Assistant Editors (Miroslav Bajić, Greta Prajdić and Biserka Žinić), members of the Editorial Board, and a very large pool of reviewers from home and abroad for their cooperation and help. Last but not least, I am grateful to the late Vera Mikuličić (1913– 2005), graduate economist and librarian, who was the administrative secretary of CCA from 1956 until her retirement in 1999, and to the current secretary Nada Trajkov, graduate chemical engineer, for their hard work in helping me run CCA so smoothly. I wish every success to the new Editor-in-Chief, Professor Kallay, and the new Editorial Board. CROATICA CHEMICA ACTA CCACAA 78 (4) LV (2005) Nenad Trinajstić
