Sažetak
The drilling geometry for blasting can be determined by the amount of explosive energy transferred to the rock mass. All parameters which are required for different explosives and for different rock types. An example of calculation of the parameters which define the drilling geometry is presented. This example is related to a limestone quarry. A relationship between the burden, which is the distance between the charged borehole and the free rock surface, and the velocity of longitudial waves in the rock mass is established based on measured values for different quarries. It is shown that the drilling geometry can also be determined from this relationship. The values of the drilling geometry calculated from this ralationship are in a very good agreement with those calculated by the explosive energy transferred to the rock mass.
