Sažetak
Sage ( Salvia officinalis L.) is a wide spread plant in Croatia and is one of the most significant plants of the coastal flora. We have studid the antibacterial activity of sage oil from North Adriatic region proving that the activity varies with the location and season. The activity of samples from the island of Pag in comparison with other samples from the same region is poorer due to the difference in composition of p-cymene, thujon, and camphor. This variation in the amounts of these components depends also on season, and the ratio of alfa+beta thujone, camphor, p-cymene and 1.8-cineole determines the biological activity of oil.
