Sažetak
A neck dissection is an essential part of oral and oropharyngeal cancer treatment and should be performed as an elective procedure for all tumors except easily accessible anterior T1 and T2 oral cancer. The minimum extent of an elective operation should be a selective ND including all jugular nodes (region 1-4) or a modified radical ND. A curative neck dissection should be a classical radical or accessory nerve sparing procedure.
