Sažetak
Multicomponent systems containing piroxicam, ß-cyclodextrin and dimethyl-ß-cyclodextrinin the presence of hydroxypropylmethyl cellulose in aqueous solution and in the solid state were prepared and characterised. The use of polymer-cyclodextrin-drug multicomponent systems in drug delivery offers some benefits. In solution, HPMC increased the complexation efficiency of CD by forming ternary complexes with higher stability constants compared to binary. In solid state, multicomponent systems offered fine balance between improved drug solubility and controlled drug delivery.
