Sažetak
The effect of hygienic disinfectant handwashing and hygienic hand disinfection with commercial preparations recommended for use in veterinary practice was assesed in veterinary medicine students after their practical exercises at clinical departments. According to the time of handwashing, the results of hygienic handwashing with a chlorhexidine glucoante antiseptic showed a bacterial count reduction expressed as log 10 reduction factor RF 1.49 at 30 s and 1.24 at 60 s, and with didecyl-dimethyl- ammonium chloride RF 1.17 at 30 s and 1.24 at 60 s. Hygienic disinfection by the procedure of alcohol antiseptic scrub was more efficient with the use of chlorhexidine gluconate in ethsnol (RF 2.05) than with a mixture of two alcohols, 2-propanol and 1.3 - butanediol (RF 1.82). Study resluts showed the preparationa tested to meet the requirements of efficient and rapid hand disinfection in veterinary practice.
