Sažetak
Crikvenica is a well-known Croatian resort situated on the northern coast of the Adriatic Sea. Together with very few other Adriatic destinations, it boasts very old tradition of tourism, elegant neo-classicist villas and reputation of being one of the most prestigeous tourist places on the coast. However, the development of other parts of the coast have challenged the leading role Crikvenica once had, as well as motivated its tourist workers to reconsider Crikvenica's resources and offers. Nowadays, it is in part still a prestigeous place to visit and spend the vacation, while there are also affordable hotels and lodgings, as well as mid-range and budget restaurants. This paper analyses the role of the Crikvenica's top restaurants in the town's attempts to regain its leading position and attracting more demanding visitors ; it shows what kind of cuisine they offer and in what way they use local food to stage the eating experience with regional touch, emphasizing its uniqueness.
