Sažetak
Economic region is a singular natural area, comprising of numerous local units which have common historic, cultural and economic ties. In the developing areas of Bosnia-Herzegovina, regions will form out of the process of drafting a relevant development strategy based on a joint regional consensus. Sustainable development implies such form of human thought and action which enables long-term development of economic activities, of society and peaceful coexistence. Advanced society is a form of organization of coexistence on the planet Earth, in which human species puts the meaning of its existence into the service of creating new values. If partner-like relations of two regions in metal-processing complex are sought upon, it is necessary that the partners have an approximately equal level of engineering and technology. Creation of eco-social market model is an optimal version for transition countries, which were, for a longer period of time, involved in the system of planned economy
