Sažetak
School furniture produced in Croatia being of inferior quality to the European is uncompetitive, irrespective of its lower price category. It is so partly due to the fact that the old Croatian HRM standards still apply to all types of furniture. The surveys have demonstrated detrimental effects of improperly designed furniture on the youths' health while, at the same time, the professionals are suggesting practical implementation of the HRN EN standards, as required by the Public Procurement Act. This approach can encourage development of new, higher quality products and modernization of local production, and ensure competitiveness with the exporters to Croatia.
