Sažetak
The European Radiation Dosimetry Group (EURADOS) was establisded in 1981 as an independent scientific society to stimulate and improve co-operation on dosimetry research and related topics. The aims of the EURADOS activities are to advance the scientific understanding of dosimetry, to promote the technical development of methods and instruments and their implementation in routine dosimetry, and to assist partners in achieving compatibility of dosimetric procedures used within Europe (www.eurados.org). EURADOS has recently 50 voting and 200 associate members. EURADOS has mainly been operated by setting up Working Groups (WG) on particular topics (for example for individual (WG2) and environmental (WG3) monitoring). From the estimated 200 individual dosimetry services (IMS) in Europe 104 responded to the compilation of data. These IMS services control 727 640 workers in Europe mainly with film (443 000) and TLDs (273 070). The implementation of standards, efforts on harmonisation of dosimetric methods for external and internal exposure, and the quality control and reliability of reported doses will be discussed. Today the societies worry about environmental quality because human activities can increase radiation dose in the environment. For that reason collection of well documented data on radiation doses in the environment is needed. It is the task of environmental monitoring. Therefore some highlights of environmental monitoring dosimeter systems as well as the importance of intercomparison in environmental dose measurements will be discussed. The perspectives in dosimetry will be mentioned through the research plans EURADOS (Framework 6, CONRAD).
