Sažetak
It seems very likely that streptozotocin-icv (STZ-icv) rat model represents the probable experimetal model of sporadic Alzheimer’ s disease, not only regarding the similarity of cognitive deficits and reduced glucose/energy metabolism, but also regarding the impaired insulin receptor signalling transduction. In line with that, glucose transporter inhibitor (GLUT I)-icv rat model could also be considered as a probable experimental sporadic Alzheimer's disease model.
