Sažetak
The hexanuclear halide clusters of the composition [M_6X_(12)(C_2H_5OH)_6]X_2, M = Nb, Ta ; X = Cl, Br, have been found to be suitable precursors in the synthesis of a series of clusters with N-donor ligands. Clusters of the composition [M_6X_(12)L_6]X_2, L = NH_3, CH_3CN, C_3H_7CN, C_5H_5N, were crystallizing out from the solutions of [M_6X_(12)(C_2H_5OH)_6]X_2 in the appropriate solvent, while clusters with L = NH_3 were precipitated out by introducing NH_3 gas in the solution of the ethanolate precursors. The prepared microcrystalline substances represent the first N-ligated species in cluster chemistry of [M_6X_(12)]^(n+) units. The analytical and spectroscopic properties point to the occupancy of all octahedral coordination sites by N-donor ligands. Crystallographic, spectroscopic and magnetic properties of these new clusters have been correlated.
