Sažetak
The hydrogen sorption properties of the RENi_5_-_xAl_- series (RE from Gd to Er) were performed with the aim to determine their hydrogen sorption characteristics. The results of pressure composition measurements of ternary alloys with x less than 2 indicated that the desorption equilibrium pressure and the hydrogen capacity decrease with the increased content of aluminium. Comparison of these results with the data for other rare earth based systems indicate a decrease in hydrogen capacity and an increase of plateau pressure as we move along the lanthanides. This means that the lanthanum based alloys still remain by far the best material for hydrogen sorption purposes.
