Sažetak
The diameter of the muscle fibres was mesured on samples of costal and lumbal part of the diaphragm from 10 fattened bulls of Croatian Simmental breed, 15 months old and 3000 kg b. w. The samples were cut into 10 micrometer slices stained with hematoxillin and eosin. The size of the tissue diameter were statistically processed and there were graphic presentations of both costal and lumbal part of the diaphragm. The analysis of the mesuring results demonstrates major heterogeneity in the diameters of the muscle fibres; fibres of small and medium diameter prevail in the costal part and fibres of a large diameter in the lumbal part 15 to 70 micrometer. The fibres of up to 25 micrometers make 10.12% in the costal part and 4.26% in the lumbal part, fibres of 30-45 micrometer make 65.77% in the costal part and 30.64% in the lumbal part. Fibres of 50-65 and 70 micrometer make 24.11% in the costal part and 65.10% in the lumbal part of the diaphragm.
