Tribomechanical micronization; Zeolite based products
Sažetak
Zeolites are natural volcanic alumo-silicate minerals. For this investigation the cristalline type of zeolit, clinoptilolite, has been used. It was tribomechanically treated in patented semi-industrial TMA equipment. This procedure of micronization and activation caused changes in particle size and their distribution, surface activity, electro-static charge and ion excange capacity. Some results indicate also their antioxidative as well as antiviral efficiency. tribomechanically activated zeolite (TMAZ) in mixture with some other active components (mostly organic) can improve their functionality. Therefore, the aim of this work was to investigate the possible prebiotic effect of several TMAZ based products on the activity of Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium bifidum. For that purpose, following products in amounts of 0.25, 0.5, 1.0 and 2.0 % were used: (i) TMAZ powder, (ii) TMAZ+Urtica dioica L. (3:1), (iii)TMAZ+pollen (3:1), (iv) TMAZ+lycopen+OPC (3:1). The results obtained have shown that all increase bacteria activity, except product (iv) that decreases activity of Bifidobacterium bifidum. The most effective was product (ii) TMAZ+Urtica dioica L. but the lowest effect had pure TMAZ. As higher was the concentration of added products as greater was their prebiotic effect.
