Sažetak
The largest cover of silver fir (Abies alba Mill.) forests in Croatia is in regions of Gorski Kotar and Lika, with the total of 200000 ha. For a decades, those forests have been exposed to deteriorating air pollution and in recent years to draught which resulted in increased dieback. For that reason it is necessary to study genetic structure of silver fir populations in the region and to take urgent conservation efforts. Genetic structure and variation of the silver fir from the area of Gorski Kotar by analysis of nine isoeenzyme systems are presented in this paper.
