Sažetak
Superficial radiotherapy using soft X-rays is still very important in treating skin carcinoma. This paper presents dosimetry for Siemens Dermopan 2 treatment device. This device uses glass and metal applicators for beam definition, ranging from 1cm to 4cm for SSD=15cm, and 12cm or 20x20cm for SSD=30cm treatment modes. Available values for X-ray tube accelerating potential are 10, 29, 43 or 50 kV. Tp perform dosimetry with these energies, a thin window planeparallel ionisation chamber was used. Area of the chamber must be smaller than the beam cross section. Measirements were performed using a PTW 23342 chamber with 0.02cm active volume, connected to Unidos dosimeter. Measurement was performed in white polystyrene phantom. Absorbed dose to water Dw was calculated as specified by the DIN 6809 protocol: Dw(Gy)=Mk(C)xNa(GY/C)xf(HVL), where Mk is the reading of the electrometer corrected on pressure and temperature, Na is calibration factor in air kerma and f(HVL) is the correcting factor, dependent of the beam quality. The values of this factor are f(30kV)=1.058, f(40kV)=1.073 and f(50kV)=1.080. Original depth dose curves were measured in Cellon, with density q=1.3g/cm and Zeft=6.76. Since this material was not available at the time of measurement, measurements were performed in white polystyrene, a water equivalent material. Results were in accordance with those published. The final goal of these measurement was a presented with times of expositions necessary to get 100cGy absorbed dose on skin surface with any combination of applicators and voltages. The accuracy of the absorbed dose was about 5%.
