Sažetak
Background: According to Recreational SCUBA Training Council (RSTC) guidelines, diving physician must assess an overall fitness for diving. Also, he can ban diving in case of severe or poorly controlled disease. On the other hand, each diver is responsible for its own health and life. Candidate for SCUBA diving course must fulfil RSTC guidelines prior the course, and periodical medical exams are recommended for all divers. However, some certified divers can develop diseases that can be either worsen or improved by diving, depending on conditions of each dive. Dive leader must control diving condition at each dive site according to each diver's certification level, and their health and dive capability. Objective: To create a helpful tool for advice making in prevention of diving distress and injury of divers having diseases or health risks as well as for improvement of fun in diving, maintaining principles of the « ; ; ; ; safe diving» ; ; ; ; . Methods: Taking in a count 11 organic functional body systems (respiratory, cardiovascular, locomotory, mental, neural, sensory, digestive, metabolic, immune, urogenital, skin/mucosa) and total amount of body fat tissue, a total of 12 categories are determined. Each category has four grade levels. Scoring system categorizes divers in four categories: no restriction in dive according their dive skill level ; restricted depth, no restriction in dive time ; restricted depth and time ; diving banned. Data of each diver are collected in a special questionnaire. Body fat is measured by body fat monitor electronic device. Results: The scoring system takes in a count health conditions in term of their functionality. The main issue is normal function in realistic dive condition. Dive conditions can be adapted to diver's functionality by limiting depth and dive time. In that way, divers with reasonably good health can enjoy in diving according to their capability. Conclusion: DHRS can help diving physicians and dive masters in maintaining recreational SCUBA diving as safe and fun sport as well as enabling safe dive to diver with certain health impairments.
