Sažetak
The final properties of polymer blends are related to the quality of their morphology, which depends on processing conditions, composition of the blends, rheological properties of phases and compatibility of polymer components. The compatibility of a polymer blend can be improved by the addition of compatibilizers. In this work, the effect of SEBS block copolymer, as compatibilizer, on rheological properties in processing and use, and morphology of PP/PS-HI blends was investigated. Processing behaviour of PP/SEBS/PS-HI blends was followed by measuring torque, output and melt pressure in the twin extruder Haake Record 90. Dynamic-mechanical analysis was performed in temperature range from -150°C to 170°C, and primary viscoelastic functions, E`, E" and tg , were determined. Following mechanical properties were examined: strenght, elongation at break, and impact strenght. The mechanical and rheological properties of investigated blends were correlated with the morphology obtained by scanning electron microscopy. The results show better compatibility of PP/PS-HI blends with SEBS block copolymer, what is visible from the better morphology structure and investigated properties.
