Sažetak
Purpose of every modern access to marine power plant design, is realisation of optimal solutions for predetermined ship usable properties. Complexity of plant demands variation of many parameters, when optimal solution is researched. Simulation method of solution by different kinds of models is one of universal methods in that procedure.
In this paper computer method for 3D model design and different possibilities for visual presentation by using method called rendering is described. This method makes it possible to change many parameters immediately (types of equipment, dimensions, location, etc.). At the same time it is also possible to select visual presentation, which gives the best space vision of the whole plant or its single parts.
Some possibilities of using 3D model design are presented by an example of marine power plant's idea design. This example shows the possibility how to use this kind of marine power plant's presentation in the preliminary designs when negotiating with shipowner.
