Sažetak
These two chapters are from the author's doctoral dissertation entitled Gendered Experiences and Femininities among women in rural spaces of Slavonia, Croatia. The first introduces domestic labour, homes spaces and women's work in rural spaces of Slavonia. It also elaborates on patterns of gender socialisation and gendered expectations based on qualitative data. The second chapter, based on interview material, describes the 'ideal' woman and man and their 'proper' places in these spaces as well as discourses of fantasy and spiritual refuge.
