Sažetak
Candida species sepsis grows ever more frequent in ICU units. One of a main causes, along with frequent usage of wide spectrum antibiotics, is an infection linked with the usage of central venous catheters. In our case, we describe a patient who was treated with several wide spectrum antibiotics, underwent repeated abdominal surgergy and had central venous catheter from which Candida species was isolated. Candida was also found in the blood culture. The patient proved resistant the fluconasol therapy, so we introduced caspofungin, upon which the symptoms of candidemia withdrew and the patient was cured.
