Sažetak
The results point out the existence of sex differences in the response of mice, rats and cats to admninistration of picrotoxin (the antagonist of GABA-A receptors). While female rats and cats were more sensitive to picrotoxin than male rats and cats, male mice were more sensitive to picrotoxin than female mice. It appears that sex differences in GABAergic activity might be responsible for the observed sex differences in the reactivity of mice, rats and cats to administration of picrotoxin.
