Sažetak
The changes in GABA concentration and in GABA synthesis produced by centrally acting drugs differ from one brain region to another, indicating that the activity and the composition of the local neural circuits might have an important role in the expression of drug effects in a particular brain region. The existence of sex differences in the reactivity of animals to drugs affecting GABAergic transmission also should not be neglected.
