Sažetak
The results show that alpha-adrenergic blocking agent - phenoxybenzamine alters the latency and the incidence of convulsions produced in rats by picrotoxin. The decreases of GABA synthesis obtained in the cingulate cortex and the increased AOAA-induced accumulation of GABA obtained in the substantia nigra only with 1.0 mg/kg of phenoxybenzamine appear to be meaningful for the understanding of the effects of phenoxybenzamine on the picrotoxin-induced convulsions.
